Parallelarum (2014)

(PEREGRINES)

Central Europe Dance Theatre

Celebrating their 25th anniversary season, the Central European Dance Theatre present a production whose three choreographers were educated in Hungary but reached professional maturity abroad. "Peregrination, studying at foreign universities, is one of the most characteristic and interesting chapters in the history of Hungarian culture. Knowledge-thirsty Hungarians roamed all over Europe from the Middle Ages, passing on what they had learned in word or in print upon returning home" (Tér-Idő, Hungarian Radio). The three one-act pieces of these modern peregrines offer summaries of their professional and artistic experiences as they explore the attraction of the homeland and its appeal to stay.
